Weddings and travels in Japan

Wedding style in Japan

Traditional Japanese weddings take place according to Sinto rite. (Shito is one of the most prevalent religions in Japan) A couple needs to wear formal kimono. Technically, only their close and extended family are able to participate in the ceremony. They gather up in a shrine and they go into a main place by making a line with a couple. During the ceremony, they stay very quite to show their politeness in front of gods(in Shinto, there are thousands of gods). A bride and a groom drink three cups of Sake one by one and they make a eternal pledge. The ceremony finishes within a day.

But  the most popular one is still Christian wedding style. The main reason why they have Christian wedding style isn’t that they believe in Christianity in many cases but women dream of wearing a beautiful white dress in their weddings.

Students travel

Japanese students really love traveling especially abroad. In summer vacation, our friend went to Spain and stayed there for two weeks. He was amazed by beautiful historical buildings made of rocks because these buildings are quite different from Japanese traditional ones which are mostly made of woods. But flight tickets from Japan to European countries are fairly expensive, and he can’t afford them usually. So they traveled a lot to these countries in South East Asia such as Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malaysia. Lately, university students often go to Korea because Korean pop culture like their fashion or music are very poplar among many teenagers in Japan, and of course the flight ticket is affordable.

Summer holidays

Because in school in Japan they offers two months of summer holidays and it’s quite long, Students often take a trip to somewhere in Japan or other countries. And so do many students in  school. We can see many photos showing that they are in Tokyo Disney Land or Universal Studio Japan on instagram during the holidays. But they also work a lot to get back money that they have used up.
