News from Japan

I have noticed that many people find Japanese stuff wierd, funny and sometimess usless. One of them is really popular. It is smatphone cover which is ridiculously huge. Too big to put phone in pockets. As our Japanese friend said said ''Every time I see someone using this I feel very weird because it should be really uncomfortable to use''
Students life
Regarding to students spending free time in the city Sapporo I found out thatmany students in their school spend most of their time on working. Japanese school schedules are not that much busy. They have just about 15 classes per week. What is more they also have lunch breaks which are from 12 to 12.50. They don't usually hang out after school. Their school is a bit too far from big city area wchich is called Sapporo. Students are tired after classes and they don't have too much energy to explore the city after school. They just go out during the weekends to shopping centres or to restaurants. There are also some cafes which are popular on Instagram because many students are keen on being updated.

Becoming Adult
18-year-old is not so special for Japanese, so they don’t really celebrate it specially. Japanese become adult legally at 20 years old, so 20-year-old celebration is kind of more special.Thye have an official ceremony for people who became 20 which is called “Seizin siki”. Seizin means adult, and siki means ceremony. People who will become 20 or became 20 on that school year ( from April to March) gather up in a public place and have ceremony. The day of the ceremony, which is the second Monday of January is a national holiday. Many people wear special kimono . They usually have reunion of high school or secondary school.
When Japanese are hungry
There are various kinds of restaurant in Japan, so they decide where to eat based on what we want to eat, restaurants reputation and price. University students usually don’t have much money so when they eat out, they rarely go to fancy restaurants with friends but go to chain restaurants or local restaurants such as ramen restaurant, Korean barbeque restaurant, curry restaurant, Japanese restaurant and etc. When it comes to Japanese-specific restaurant, it is conveyor-belt sushi(“Kaiten-Sushi” in Japanese) which is popular. Kaiten-Sushi is a type of Sushi restaurant that serves dishes on a revolving counter. As the food revolves around, people pick the dishes they want. That is a reasonable price so everybody can eat there easily.
